An avalanche of support and love has come rumbling into our lives – creating happiness and surrounding us with such positive energy.
Less than 24 hours ago I set up a fundraising page and since then not only have we raised more than $2 thousand to cover the out-of-pocket medical expenses, but wonderful people have offered to cover airfare for Paul and me over to the states so he can meet my father and other family members. Maybe we can even make it over to “the 603” as NH is called.
I’m so overwhelmed by the kindness, generosity, bigheartedness, thoughtfulness – wow. Just bowled over.
I’ve also gotten back in touch with a much-loved cousin or three. One I spent an hour with this morning sharing pain, laughter and stories and most importantly, re-forging our connection.
That people can be so wonderful is life-affirming. My workplace has been nothing but supportive, Paul’s workplace incredibly so. Family, friends, friendly acquaintances — all sending so much love our way. My mother commented that for someone who was once so lonely, I seem to have a lot of people who care — and a community.
A new category has been added for my posts: Gratitude. Thank you.
